Our Politics Panel looks at new legislation that seeks to stamp out the potential for political collusion in Alberta and muses over the Alberta Party as they continue to search for a leader.

It’s legislation Alberta’s Minister of Democratic Renewal says will get dark money out of politics. Christina Gray introduced Bill 32 Monday with the aim of restricting the activities of political action committees, activities that Alberta’s Chief Electoral Officer recently warned could skirt provincial law and create an uneven playing field in the next election.

Plus, nearly one month after Greg Clark made the surprise announcement he was stepping down to trigger an Alberta Party leadership race, the search continues.

The move generated headlines as support in the centrist party began surging with interest from former PC Party members looking for a new home.  So far, however, no leadership candidates have stepped forward.

Guests on our Politics Panel include: Kathy Kerr, freelance writer and editor, longtime Alberta print journalist; Robert Noce, lawyer and former Edmonton city councilor and Melanee Thomas, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, University of Calgary.
