School counsellor and trained therapy dog communicate with students on a special level

Getting kids to open up and talk isn’t easy, but a counsellor at Richard S. Fowler Catholic Junior High in St. Albert has some help.

Her furry assistant, Bear, helps children feel more comfortable and to open up about their problems and challenges.

Bear is very calm and loves people. He offers unconditional love and a safe space to find comfort, and is helping make a difference in many young lives.
