Indigenous art and craftsmanship play a pivotal role in the academic instruction offered at Portage College in Lac La Biche.  And now, the Lac La Biche campus is home to a permanent installation of art by Canada’s Indian Group of Seven.  Works from Daphne Odjig, Alex Janvier, Jackson Beardy, Eddy Cobiness, Norval Morrisseau, Carl Ray and Joseph Sanchez is now open.  Ruby Sweetman, coordinator of the Native Arts and Culture program and Dr. Trent Keough, President and CEO of Portage College speak with Michael about the importance of this collection, the impact of the Indian Group of Seven and the motivation to honour them with a permanent installation.
