For Darren Cunningham, owner and co-founder of Urban Timber, carpentry is a passion passed down by his parents. And he has found a way to continue his family’s legacy.

Darren started Urban Timber with his father, and the business grew quickly. The company creates custom furniture, building lasting memories from reclaimed wood.

Darren set up the Wood to Remember fund in his mother’s name, after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She was involved in the finishing work early on in the company, and he wanted to keep his mom’s influence a part of the business. The fund also helps him to raise awareness about the disease and to give back to the community.
