“Not Yet Earth,” by Madeline Mackay explores the unique identity of flesh as a sense of regaining a sense of control over a body when it is fighting a disease. Madeline worked with mud, water and meat to develop her drawings and prints. The entire process of developing the exhibit helped Madeline gain control of her body during an illness. “Lacuna”, by Becky Thera is inspired by her own experiences with sexual assault. Her visual arts exhibit showcases the rawness of trauma. Both exhibits are part of the students’ Master of Fine Arts. The exhibits will be on display at the UofA’s Fine Arts Building Gallery until March 17.
