Singer-songwriter Dan Davidson of St. Albert may be a newbie to country music, but he’s well versed in the music industry. After more than a decade with rock band Tupelo Honey and touring with bands like Bon Jovi, Davidson found himself drawn towards country music. He grew up on the prairies and says it is hard not to have a little country in you.

Davidson’s second single “Found” was gold-certified. It made him one of the only true independent artists to earn that status in 2017. He won eight Alberta Country Music Association Awards in two years and has numerous Canadian Country Music Association Award nominations. He also won the 2017 Edmonton Music Prize, taking home $10,000.

After watching his music videos, it is clear Davidson has fun doing what he is doing. The video for “Say We Did” is a homage to Star Trek, and in “Found” he and his band dress up as mascots.

Davidson is currently on tour with another Alberta country music star, Brett Kissel.
