Three decades ago, Raymond Yakeleya started his career as a filmmaker with short documentaries like the “The Last Mooseskin Boat”, an adventure film dedicated to exploring the lives of the Dene people. Now, the TV producer, and director is making his debut as an author with his new book “The Tree by the Woodpile and other Dene spirit of nature tales.” He continues on his mission to share the stories of Canada’s Indigenous peoples and help to keep his culture alive.
