Demand for counselling services has increased dramatically since the start of the Me Too movement, but there is no way for people seeking help in Alberta to know if they are getting service from qualified professionals.  The counselling profession is not regulated in our province, which could have a big impact on vulnerable Albertans and the care they receive.  The Federation of Associations of Counselling Therapists in Alberta (FACT-Alberta) is pushing for the province to take action quickly, to recognize the importance of counselling and begin regulating the growing profession.  It is currently regulated in Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
