Keep your head up; cross to the other side pf the street; have your keys in hand—those are all tips women are taught when alone or in a potentially dangerous situation. But what if someone was there to help?  Pin Up Girl, started by Stephanie Colangeli, is a Calgary initiative that distributes pink buttons to those who request one. The pin identifies the person wearing it as someone who is willing and able to offer assistance to a woman in need. The project was inspired by Canada’s block parent program, and is building a worldwide support system for women. To get your own pin, go to the Pin Up Girl website.
