Anti-smoking advocates say not enough is being done to reduce tobacco use among Albertans and give the province a grade of C- for their efforts for a second year in a row.

Les Hagen, Executive Director of Action on Smoking & Health says the NDP government started out strong on tobacco reduction within the first 30 days of taking power with the ban on menthol, but says little has been done since.

Hagen says more action and measures need to be taken around youth access, affordability, and re-investing and implementing Alberta’s tobacco reduction strategy.
