Edmonton’s Josh Hockin had spent more than a decade mastering the art of coffee. He wants to make sure the coffee you drink is both delicious and ethically traded.

Josh took a break from his last semester of university to make coffee, which had always interested him. But it was more than a reprieve and he discovered his true passion.

Now he is the Director of Coffee at Transcend Coffee in Edmonton, where he is responsible for sourcing all of the coffee prepared and served in their establishments.

He travels to the producers around the world and works with the farmers, building relationships and ensuring quality and ethical standards are met. He says you can find great coffee beans in many places, but they’re all very different.

The coffee is roasted in Edmonton after careful tasting and testing, ensuring a perfect brew every time.
