Building a first-of-its-kind lung transplant recovery residence

Alberta’s only lung transplant centre is at the University of Alberta Hospital and it is one of the busiest in the country.

More than 60 per cent of patients live outside the Edmonton region, making the lengthy recovery process a major financial challenge for lung recipients and their families.

To help ease that burden, The Lung Association, Alberta & NWT has launched efforts to build a recovery residence that would give patients a home away from home.
